Collection by National Citizen Service Volunteers

14th August 2018

During the week of 6th August 2018 a group 15-17 year olds took part in the National Citizen Service scheme and elected Uckfield Foodbank as their charity of choice.  They collected food and toiletry donations at Tesco and Boots, monetary donations through busking and GoFundMe and painted a mural which will be displayed in the town.  The food donations totalled an amazing 484kgs and almost £300 in was collected in monetary donations.  We are very grateful to them for their time and to the people of Uckfield for their continuing generosity.

These donations are particularly important to us at this time of year when we often see an increase in the number of families needing food parcels.  Since the beginning of August we have fed 22 adults and 13 children.  If you know of anyone who is struggling to feed themselves and/or their family then please do tell them that we are here to help.
